Alcoholism

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship started by Robert Smith also known as Dr. Bob and Bill Wilson

which helps people who are dealing with problems pertaining to alcoholism or people with members in their household struggling with this addiction.

Yes, alcoholism is a form of addiction. You start with just a bottle then it becomes two then another then another until you find out you have become an alcoholic. It destroys your relationship with your family be it with your parents, your spouse, your children, your peers or even strangers.

Once you realize you’ve fallen down and gotten into the pit and want out. Do your best to get out of the situation you’re in. Get the help you need.

Read and meditate God’s Word. Join a fellowship among believers. Join a meeting such as the Alcoholics Anonymous. They can help share the burden as they themselves have been in a mess you were in.

And just because you feel you are alright after attending an  AA meeting, don’t try to stop. Keep coming back as one of the AA slogans says. Don’t feel embarrassed just because you had a relapse. People in the AA meetings experienced relapse, too. You are not the only one.

And just because you reached 1 year of AA doesn’t mean it’s okay to stop, that it’s okay to be on your own. You might think you’re okay. You are okay but temptations are still around and who knows you will fall into it again. Just because you were able to get past your 1 year AA anniversary doesn’t mean you don’t need any support anymore. Be it 1 year AA anniversary or 10 year AA anniversary or 25 year AA anniversary.

Don’t leave the group you are in. In the beginning you are the one who needs help and support from older group members. Older doesn’t mean old in age but people who joined the group before you did.

Somewhere along the years another will join the group. It will then be your turn to help these new members. How can you help if you are not around? It will be your turn to encourage others that just because they are done celebrating their 1 year AA anniversary doesn’t mean they cease to attend AA meetings, cease to fellowship with other believers.

Also when you continue to attend AA meetings, fellowship with other believers you can give them a gift they will remember like this Silver and Gold Medallion

or this medallion specifically intended for women which is the Woman Serenity Recovery Chip for their yearly AA anniversary.

This will help encourage them to continue with their journey with AA group. And then someday they will be able to help new members.
